[/tab][tab title=”Hans Delly”]Hans Delly

Apprentice Instructor: Mr. Delly chose his path into TaeKwonDo in 1992 while living in New Jersey. He began his TaeKwonDo training under the instruction of a traditional Korean Master ( 8th Degree Black Belt), Sa Bum Nim Jae Boong Ko, under whom he gained appreciation for TaeKwonDo as a discipline that shows ways of enhancing our spirit and life through training our body and mind .

Mr. Delly later joined and has been training at Atlanta Choong-Sil Kwan TaeKwonDo since May 2007. He introduced his son to TaeKwonDo at 3 years old in 2011. Watching his son’s development and progression in TaeKwonDo inspired Mr. Delly to personally re-commit to his own continued training as a martial artist. He stresses that it is THE BEST Father & Son activity that they do together. His son is now 6 years old and currently a Blue Belt. Mr. Delly shares with other parents and affirms that TaeKwonDo has been a great medium for channeling his son’s abundance of energy while teaching him key life principles – Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control and Indomitable-Spirit.  It is also evident that his son not only enjoys his classes, but has made great friends at Atlanta Choong-Sil Kwan TaeKwonDo and follows the example set by the Black Belts.

Mr. Delly is currently training to become and achieve his certification as an Assistant Instructor ( Red Collar Instructor ) by the Choong-Sil Taekwondo Federation (CTF). He has been teaching TaeKwonDo classes to children ( Ages 6-12 ) since April 2014. Mr. Delly believes that the opportunity to introduce and teach TaeKwonDo to children as an Apprentice Instructor represents a unique opportunity to impact the broader community as a Servant-Leader.

As a servant leader, Mr. Delly believes that learning a martial art is more than just about learning “flashy” techniques and more than just about Self-Defense. Martial Arts can also serve as a foundation for a healthy lifestyle and provide guiding principles in life and in how we treat one another.

Mr. Delly appreciates that introducing children to TaeKwonDo and enabling them to progress from white belt to Black belt does take time, hard work and lots of practice for them to learn and get good. As an Apprentice Instructor, he focuses and structures his classes around the fact that children will only apply themselves and put in this effort into something that they enjoy, take pride in and feel rewarded about.

Mr. Delly passionately advocates that the core of all Martial Arts is a “life philosophy”. The techniques that we learn are first and foremost meant for defense of yourself and others (not showing off). However, learning the techniques is not all that there is. He stresses that understanding the philosophy, principles and cultural foundation behind the martial art are equally important.

Mr. Delly is married and has a son. Outside of TaeKwonDo, he is a business technology consulting executive and entrepreneur.
